They're scientists, except they are also owls.

Don't know where this idea came from. I just thought it would be neat to draw some pulp sci-fi owl-scientists doing weird science stuff. I tried a lot of new techniques for this piece, some of which were successful, some not, but all educational. I'm sufficiently pleased.

Now, some of you may be wondering, if they're scientist owls, why are dressed like that? Well, my imaginary friend, I was inspired by the old pulp sci-fi films wherein scientist type characters tended to dress in wizard-like satin robes and such. In fact, the three owl scientists' outfits are inspired by specific ones. Good luck figuring out which! Further brownie points if you recognize the science-thingy floating in the middle.

I spent a good day and a half on this thing, but I might still have one more left in me. Stick around! Or don't; that's your call!
